Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp apple vinegar (or dry apple juice)
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp chili garlic sauce (adjust to heat preference)
- 2 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Marinate the beef with cornstarch, soy sauce, and vinegar for 10 minutes.
- Combine ketchup, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, chili garlic sauce, and cornstarch mixed with water in a bowl to make the sauce.
- Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat; cook marinated beef until browned (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from the pan.
- Stir-fry sliced bell peppers, onion, and garlic in the same wok for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return beef to the wok; add the sauce and stir well. Cook for another minute until heated through.
