  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 2 packages pumpkin spice cream cheese spread

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl, mix bread flour, all-purpose flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and pumpkin pie spice.
  2. Warm the milk and add it to the dry ingredients along with the egg, egg yolk, pumpkin, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
  3. Add softened butter and knead until smooth (5-7 minutes).
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. Roll out the dough and cut into doughnut shapes; let them rise again for 30 minutes.
  6. Fry in medium-hot oil until golden brown on both sides (2-3 minutes each).
  7. Cool and fill with cream cheese spread using a piping bag.
  8. Dust with pumpkin spice sugar before serving.
