Ingredients

Scale
  • 330 g self raising flour
  • 360 g granulated sugar
  • 360 g butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 30 g unsweetened black cocoa powder
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 90 ml milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 400 g butter (salted)
  • 800 g powdered sugar (icing sugar)
  • 1¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream (optional)
  • Electric green food coloring (a few drops)
  • 250 g Orange fondant
  • 200 g Black fondant
  • 1 tbsp CMC powder
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease your baking pans well to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine self-raising flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened black cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix until evenly combined.
  3. In another bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Add milk and vanilla extract into the butter mixture, stirring until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans evenly. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool completely before assembling.
  7. In a large bowl, beat salted butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and continue beating until fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract, adjusting consistency with milk or cream as needed. Add green food coloring until desired shade is achieved.
  8. Cut cooled cake into small pieces. Layer cake pieces at the bottom of each jar followed by green buttercream and repeat until jars are filled.
  9. Top with sprinkles and decorative fondant.
